About
Charles Anastasia is a seasoned CPA with over 25 years of experience in the accounting and finance sectors, and niche expertise in the Real Estate industry. Since earning his CPA designation in 1997, Charles has built a robust career spanning the Big Four, national firms, and boutique practices, alongside owning a successful financial services business. He is licensed in both New York and New Jersey. Charlie joined SAX in the 2024 acquisition of Sewald & Anastasia CPAs, where he served as owner and Managing Partner.
As the leader of SAX’s Real Estate Practice, Charles has extensive expertise in tax and compliance, having held senior leadership positions as Senior Vice President at two multi-billion dollar publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs). His client service portfolio is diverse, encompassing high-net-worth individuals, corporations (both S and C), partnerships (LLCs and LPs), public and private REITs, Opportunity Zone Funds, real estate and private equity funds, management companies, and small businesses.
While Charles’s primary industry focus is in real estate, he has also provided expert guidance to clients in healthcare, legal, insurance, retail, construction, and family office sectors, among others. He has contributed to the academic field as an adjunct professor at Baruch College, teaching a course in Real Estate Taxation, and has developed in-house training programs for continuing professional education (CPE) at previous firms.
With a commitment to excellence and a passion for real estate, Charles continues to drive innovative strategies and solutions for his clients at SAX. On a personal note, Charlie resides in Marlboro, NJ with his wife Laura and three kids, Valentina, Charles Jr. and Loredana. Charlie is a coach for Baseball and Flag Football and enjoys playing golf recreationally.
