With over 15 years of experience, Rory is a Partner in the tax department at Sax, specializing in the taxation of corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals, with a particular focus on the real estate industry.  He works extensively with real estate funds, developers, owners, and operators on tax compliance and structuring matters.

Rory is a noted expert on joint venture formations, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, both in the corporate and partnership context.  He has consulted extensively on spin offs, 1031 exchanges, UPREIT contributions, and various other transactions ranging in size from single assets deals to multi-billion dollar business combinations.  He also has extensive experience in buy and sell side due diligence.

Prior to joining Sax, Rory practiced in the real estate and mergers & acquisition practices of both Big 4 and national firms, where he was often called upon to teach firm-wide courses on various matters and serve in a technical quality control capacity.  He is also a frequent speaker at industry events.

Rory is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and is a licensed CPA in New York.
