Julio joins the firm as Partner in Charge of Sax’s Tax Controversy Practice, where he specializes in complex tax controversy issues, leveraging his IRS experience to represent clients successfully before taxation authorities.
Prior to joining the firm, he served in technical leadership roles at the national office for two different Big 4 public accounting firms, his own tax advisory practice, and the Internal Revenue Service National Office of the Chief Counsel in Washington DC, where he was involved in IRS examinations, litigation, and Department of Treasury published guidance for both Associate Chief Counsel International and Division Counsel Large Business and International.
Julio is highly skilled in international capital markets, including structuring, compliance, and controversy issues. In addition, he has experience with financial products and services across treasury and risk management functions, asset management and banking.
