Parsippany, NJ, December 7, 2022: Top 100 accounting, tax and advisory firm, Sax LLP, is proud to announce the success of their 11th annual 4 MILER at Garret Mountain event held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, to benefit St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. This year, over 400 participants, 40 volunteers, 40 sponsors, and 100 donors came together to raise $115,000 for St. Joseph’s Child Life Department, marking the best year yet for the annual event in terms of dollars raised.
St. Joseph’s Child Life Department offers high-impact holistic therapies to their pediatric patients, including art therapy, animal-assisted therapy, and horticultural therapy. These therapies are funded by outside support only. They are shown to be highly beneficial in mitigating the adverse effects of hospitalization, particularly for patients with chronic, life-threatening, or terminal illnesses.
Since its inception in 2012, the 4 MILER has now raised $800,000 for the Children’s Hospital and has become the largest financial contributor to the Child Life Department.

The family-friendly run/walk event is coordinated and facilitated by Sax. The firm’s philanthropic arm, The Sax Charitable Foundation, absorbs all event costs so that 100% of funds raised go directly to benefit the Child Life Department at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital.

The 4 MILER was held at the scenic Garret Mountain Reservation, a 568-acre landmark located in Woodland Park and featured a 4-mile run on a scenic USA Track and Field Certified (USATF) double-loop race course, as well as a 1.5-mile trail walk. Kids’ dashes, with distances ranging from 25 to 200 yards, were held for children ages 2-11. Race-day entertainment included a DJ, awards, random prize drawings, a variety of children’s activities, refreshments, and more.
