October 17 CFO Focus: New Jersey Paid Sick Leave

Changes Ahead!  Mandatory New Jersey Paid Sick Leave

New Jersey has become the 10th state to make some form of paid sick leave mandatory for employers to provide.  This requirement will take effect on October 29, 2018.  Once effective, it will require New Jersey employers of all sizes to provide up to 40 hours of paid sick leave per year to covered employees.  This new legislation will impact just about every employer in our state.

Please join us on Wednesday, October 17 as we hear from Stacee Delp, Human Resources Consultant with Gallagher Benefit Services Human Resources and Compensation Consulting division.  She will dive into the new law and illuminate the most important components of the Act to ensure your organization is prepared and administering the policies and practices in a way that is compliant.

Key areas of discussion will include:

  • Who is Covered?
  • Accrual Period
  • Leave Use Limits
  • Record Keeping Requirements
  • How to Navigate Multiple Family/Sick Leave Laws
  • How does ADA come into play?
