Aug 30 KIDS RACE FOR KIDS AT THE 6TH ANNUAL 4 MILER AT GARRET MOUNTAIN BENEFITING ST. JOSEPH’S CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
Clifton, NJ, August 31, 2017 – The 4 Miler at Garret Mountain will return to Woodland Park, NJ on Saturday, September 16, 2017 for the sixth straight year. Presented by the Sax Charitable Foundation – Sax LLP’s philanthropic arm – the annual run/walk event directly benefits the Child Life Department at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson, NJ. This Department depends solely on private funding to support the children’s quality-of-life programs that help decrease the stress and anxiety caused by illness and hospitalization.
A highlight of the 4 Miler is the chance for children to contribute to the cause. Kids’ Dashes are arranged for children ages 2 to 11 beginning at 10:15 a.m., and will feature distances ranging from 25 to 200 yards. The entry fee for a kids’ dash is $5.00 and all children participating will receive a t-shirt and a finishing ribbon.
Adults also can participate in one of Northern New Jersey’s most challenging and scenic 4-mile runs at the start time of 9 a.m., or a 1.5-mile trail walk starting at 9:10 a.m. The pre-registration fee for adults is $25.00 before September 11 and $30.00 after September 11, and the day-of.

The 568-acre Garret Mountain Reservation is located at 288 Rifle Camp Road. The event will be held rain or shine.
Since its inception in 2012, the 4 Miler has raised nearly $300,000 for the Child Life Department, becoming one of their largest financial supporters, and one of the most successful philanthropic fall events in the tri-state area. Last year, over 350 runners/walkers participated and $60,000 was raised.
All expenses associated with the event are being absorbed by Sax LLP in order to donate 100 percent of the sponsorship proceeds directly to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital.
